It’s boom time for Melbourne’s high-flying entrepreneurs, sports stars and creatives, with homes owned by big names fetching sizeable sums across the past month.
In February, beauty mogul Blair James and wife Melanie put their heritage-listed house at 41 Fellows St, Kew, on the market with a $7m-$7.7m asking range.
Mr James and business partner Shaun Wilson sold their Bondi Sands self-tanning brands to Japanese skincare giant Kao Corporation for more than $450m last year.

Along with fellow businessman Hamish Buckley, Mr James also co-founded the hair care label Growth Bomb.
Marshall White Boroondara’s Nick Ptak said he had fielded multiple offers from local and overseas-based buyers for the circa-1897 Kew digs, which recently sold for an undisclosed amount.
“The new owners loved the historic nature of it, the landholding, and being in one of the premier streets in Kew,” Mr Ptak said.
In Glen Iris, former AFL player Ben Holland and wife Kiera have farewelled a three-bedroom house at 55 Vincent St.
Holland played more than 190 games for Richmond and Melbourne and is now the Victorian Podiatry Group’s director, a role that has seen him appointed North Melbourne’s official podiatrist.
Ex-Richmond player turned O’Brien Real Estate property consultant and auctioneer, John Rombotis, recruited Tigers legend Kevin Sheedy to spruik the home in a video. According to realestate.com.au, the address sold for $2.64m last month.
Mr Rombotis said a family with children had snapped up the abode, attracted by its location 190m from the Harold Holt Swim Centre.
He also had the listing for a house at 37 Yertchuk Ave, Ashwood, which had been in ex-Collingwood player Shane Morwood’s wife’s family for more than six decades. A young couple purchased the home for a figure slightly above the $1.35m-$1.375m price guide.
In Doncaster, design firm Grafico House’s founder Damian Corney offloaded his house at 4 Aberdeen Drive for $1.76m.
Corney counts Louis Vuitton, Essendon Football Club and Zagame Automotive Group among his clients.
Meanwhile, e-commerce firm Rokt’s co-founder Ben Voltz and wife Briana have listed their Hamptons-style, five-bedroom house at 17 Toorak Ave, Toorak, with a $7m-$7.7m price guide.
RT Edgar Toorak’s Antoinette Nido declined to comment on the owners but said the circa-1920s pad had attracted interest from overseas, interstate and Melbourne buyers.
In March, Mr Voltz was revealed as the buyer of a $50m+ eight-bedroom Sydney mansion.
Ms Nido also has the listing for a penthouse at 2601-2604/18 Claremont St, South Yarra, owned by Sonic Healthcare founder Michael Boyd. The 408sq m residence has a $7m-$7.7m price tag.
